According to the different patterns of traffic flow, divides underground traffic linked tunnels into underground garage connected tunnels and passenger transport linked tunnels. By summarizing the current calculation methods of ventilation rate for underground garages and highway tunnels, finds that the calculated CO emission based on PIARC 2012 is only 7% to 20% of the values based on the detailed Rule 2014 due to the different baseline emission factors. According to the movement characteristics of vehicle and people, proposes the concentration limits of air pollutant based on division in underground traffic linked tunnels. To be specifically, the CO design mass concentrations of discontinuous and continuous traffic areas are 30 and 86 mg/m3, respectively. Proposes a zoning calculation method of ventilation rate on the basis of calculation method in PIARC 2012. Taking the Harbin West Railway Station as an example, the calculation results show that the air change rate in the continuous traffic area is about 4 to 6 h-1 depending on slopes, while for alighting area with heavy traffic, the value is about 15 h-1. As for the storage garage, although there exists a high CO emission per vehicle, the air change rate is not significantly increased since each vehicle occupies a relatively large area, remained at 4 h-1.
